June 27 Some one called the anti-defamation league on me!After reading the comment left by Dave there, I've decided I must say something...
As much as this should be listed under "news and politics" it's not. I will be calling upon factual information in which can be verified if you do the looking but also I'm going to be throwing out some philosophical ideas about why and what is going on in the Middle East.
Anyways I must say something so that some thing starts like this,
War in the Middle East could End... and quite frankly it should end... but obviously it won't.
I too have also studied the plight of the Israel/Palestine conflict. There is some very deep rooted hatred there, the most heaviest kind of hate in the world, it runs through the veins of every person involved and unfortunatly it's their blood that ends up running through the street.
Amazingly enough in my opinion the whole Israel/Palestine conflict runs parallel to the whole IRA/England conflict.
In both cases you have two nations. One which wants freedom, the other wants to rule.
Both sides are willing to use violence and both sides will not stop until they are victorious.
The Israel/Palestine conflict revolves essential around the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
I could get into the history of the whole conflict but I really don't want to, it's pretty depressing really.
Now i've talked to many Jews in my life time and I'm never afraid to bring up the whole Palestinian/Israeli thing, and to be honest most of the Jews I talk to say the exact same thing, "All those filthy sands need to be exterminated" Basically they all spout fairly Nazish statements. I've also talked to a few Palestinians, although not many... maybe a dozen or so and they all told me the same thing, "Just stop the violence" with an odd anti-semite remark here and there.
So I thought why such different opinions?
Well the fact of the matter is it all lies in the education of peoples.
First and foremost Israel arguably has one of the best military forces in the world, easily the best military force in the Middle East and some of the best military technology comes straight from Israel like those guns that can shoot around corners.
So when the Israeli forces come marching down the street there isn't much you can do but throw the rocks at your feet. Of course there are more militant Palestinian groups like Hamas who have Aks and RPGs and shit but that's a different story. For the most part all citizens of Israel have a mandatory military enlisting of 1 or 2 years, basically making the whole state a militarized one if need be.
I'm not sure of the Palestinian education system but I do know that the Israeli one does promote some biased propaganda to fuel the hatred towards Palestine. Now the universities have a more liberal approach but through grade school, they learn of conflicts and wars in which the facts are skewed to make Israel the hero, much like many history books from China, which skew facts to present a not so true reality.
To stop violence one could argue that education is the best weapon... when used properly. If used inproperly it can easily perpetuate the cycle of violence.
Do you want to know how to end the Israel/Palestine conflict? Plato's Republic.
That's fucking how it should be done. shit, I'm willing to do it! I will be their philosopher Ruler.
First we get a little spot of our own away from all their petty problems... give us Eilat or something out of the way like that.
Then we take all the children both Israeli and Palestinian 10 years old and younger. The rest of the population is no good to us, their minds already corrupted.
So we take those kids 10 and under and make them kids of the state, we grow them, teach them and love them not as individual children with individual parents and religions and creed but as a unified entity, as children of the state, nothing more nothing less.
We use Plato's class sytem not as a means of segregation but as a means of control. The children will be placed with an occupation that best suits their individual skills and merits. From there we continue to follow the methods of Plato and the Kids whether Israeli or Palestinian will grow up without any of that deep seeded hatred that has destroyed their former Parents and states. We teach that personal gain is pointless, we'll teach truth and knowledge as the ultimate good, wealth and gold are unneccesary as the Gold in our childrens hearts is all the gold they'll ever need, that the welfare of the state and its people are the primary concern of all.
And of course that would solve the whole bloody thing. It's all about the re-education of the children. Like Marvin Gaye saing, "Save the children"

Obviously this is just a very crude example, but you get the point no? To really understand what I mean you'd have to familiarize yourself with Plato's Republic. But trust me it makes plenty of sense, It makes 1000000x times more sense then the Middle East does right now. The point really is that we can teach peace to kids whom have not already suffered the horrors of war. We grow them with compassion for their fellow brothers whether black, white, brown, yellow, or purple. It would be the dawn of a new great state, one which would closely resemble an "anarchist commune" which would live independantly from the world's socio-economics. It would be grand indeed. But of course most likely we'd be sabotaged by other countries as our... dare I say Utopia would surely upset the balance of power in the world.

I like the ending they went with in the movie more so than the original.
It really puts my, our script into perspective. I was worried about doing a re-write and looking at version 1 and version 2, I much prefer version 1 although version 2 has a more... dumbed down feel. It gets very explanitive... is that a word? explanitive?
Anyways the point is I don't like our second draft as much as the first draft.
Sigh, so now what? Do we do screen tests? Film both and see what plays out better to the viewers?
The problem is I'm an elitist bastard. I like it more obscure and vague. Smart people will get it but dumb people won't... which means it may not be well received by viewers.
Now as a writer I'm stuck in a matter of ethics.
Do I push ahead and go with the version I prefer or do I sell it out and dumb it down? Maybe I should let the screener test be the guage of success...
But what really is success? Isn't success like beauty? It's all in the eye of the beholder?
How much of a difference is there between Artistic value vs Commercial success?

2:30-5:00pm mon-fri is reserved for writing time and sometimes I do and other times I just sit there watching life pass on by, hundreds of thousands of people walking by doing something, going somewhere meanwhile I sit doing nothing and going no where.
Inspiration is a tricky thing, even when I really want to work sometimes I just get nothing... and nothing is worse than going somewhere with the intension to do something but wind up leaving having done nothing at all.
Aside from the right words finding the page, the only thing worse is the fact that writing is a solitaire event. It's so lonely yet you're never alone. Physically you could be alone but mentally, you're in a world of your own creation, interacting and controlling everyone to everything.
With that said, being God is quite the burden, especially when it's the seventh day of creation and you've pretty much done everything...

Suddenly you'll be given a $500 dollar ticket in the mail saying you were jay walking on 34th and Lex 3 days ago at exactly 10:34:52. OF course yo'ull try to fight it and when you get to court they'll show you 8 different shots of you jay walking as if they were making a Hollywood movie.
I really don't know what's going to be worse.

Out on the interstate it's all about love, love, loveOk, so with the completion or semi-completion of the first "untitled" short, which is like in a perpetual state of pre-production, one must move on to the next project.
The next project being the "Z-Day" comic which of course is also underway but is some what stagnent as it's a collabo with artists and of course it's all about the artist.
So until the artists are ready that's on the back burner too.
So then what's next? what can I get on in the mean time?
well.... here's the break down.
I've got two other stories on the go the first being "The Razzi" which is a paparazzi script. What's good about it is, I get to stay GOD in a world of my own creation. I get to create and destroy anything and everyone. I get to live inside my own mind. For the most part that's what all writing is about, to me anyways. It's a complete fictional work so I mean it's all just fun and games, it's all about entertainment.
The second story being another short is called "Alabama Motel Room" and this is the short that is driving me currently insane. It's a short about love and loss and it has many different elements from many different places, and is more of a personal matter. More of a inner spiritual thing, infinitly revealing about the state of love, views on love and my and other opinions on love. It's of a personal nature... this thing called love.
Now the problem I'm facing is this.
When writing "the Razzi" script it's easy to seperate your characters from yourself since they full fill certain character types BUT on the other hand "Alabama Motel Room" is about a universal topic in which many if not everyone has dived into and love is such a personal matter that the lines between fiction and reality start to become blurred. Suddenly more of myself is being put into this character and it's becoming hard to seperate myself from this character I've created.
It's like being a character actor (I think) you know those actors who get a role then like really get into the role like if the character they're playing is a waiter than the actor himself will go be a waiter somewhere to get like the full real experience.
Well that's the problem. You get obsessive. The lines blur. Reality, fantasy, there's no difference anymore, there is only just being.
I guess Heath Ledger is a good example even tho it's not like a fact i guess but I mean he's a dude who gets into roles, Johhny Depp another great example. anyways to get the proper dialogue, to get proper tone, mentalities and expressions to seem as real as possible you've got to be in that mind state.
Like I was saying Heath Ledger, in my opinion died from the drug OD or whatever which was partly induced by playing the role of "the joker" in the new batman. He got way to into the Joker as a character and it pretty much just drove him over the edge. Even Jacko warned him about it all, from playing the joker to playing with drugs.
I've only been trying to write this story now for two days and already I feel like I want to slit my wrists, not because it's a bad script or whatever but because that's what the character would do. I'm constantly mauling over the idea of "love" and not only that but more importantly of losing "love" which if any of you have lost, know it's absolutely fucking brutal, like being in the deepest darkest pit of despair. Unfortunetly for me pretty much the entire script revolves around despair which means if I think about it too much I end up walking around all day in my own personal state of despair. Constantly letting things which normally wouldn't mean shit to me to suddenly cause me to scream in inner turmoil.
It's like I'm forcing myself to re-live my own mistakes and misfortunes dealing with love. Constantly thinking of ex-lovers, the good, the bad, and the ugly, every fight, every lost moment, every time I should have done something but didn't, every "love you" that fell on deaf ears, every sin and all the lust and envy, all of it.
Jay will agree with me that words are in a sense "clumsy" and that often there are not enough words, or the right words to describe what it is we as people feel or think.
I'm beginning to think it doesn't matter. The words don't matter. It's all about what you feel, and when you feel it then well... nothing matters anymore. If you walk around feeling proud or sad then your state of mind will resonant with other around you and they will be able to feel what you feel without uttering a single word. You know I could say "I love you" everyday for the rest of my life but then it'll seem like the words lose meaning, like it's just reduced to a routine but I can shoot you a smile or a certain gaze that also says, "I love you" without saying I love you that's only for you to know and to have.
Nothing can take that away from you or from us or from anyone. The moments you share in love are to be held close, nothing more nothing less. June 18 Too stupid for words...This will be short and sweet.

Here's what doesn't make sense.
So you sign a cease fire but then don't make it effective until thursday.
Now that you know you have a cease fire coming, why not fire off that extra stock of missles for the hell of it.

I believe throughout history there has been around 4-5 cease fires centered around Israel and Palistine and yes they do stop bombing the shit out of each other but eventually the cease fire ends and it's war again. The last cease fire I remember was in '03 which lasted less than 3 months.

All music has a certain cultural or social stance/asthetic. Most people dress the part but know nothing about the struggles.

You can't be a real black metal fan if you go to church every sunday.
And you sure as hell can't be a real hip hopper if you don't participate in at least one of the four elements.
Basically you can't front anti-establishment while doing a four year bachelors degree... it's like an oxy moron.
Don't get me wrong, all generas of music still have some diamonds in the rough but in general it's all shit. Even now I only listen to classic hip hop and classic rock.
What ever happened to the notion that music can change the world? It's like there's no more original thoughts left.
Remember when it was considered couragous to sing and protest against the war in Vietnam? Almost all music was politically motivated at that point. Now if you sing about the Iraq war, you'll be bloody austacized and end up like the fucking Dixie Chicks.
Back to the point, I guess I'm a hip hopper now. Politically I still have a soft spot for Anarchy. The abolishment of any and all coercive institutions in which free and equal access to information and production would replace it. An unhindered unfolding of all the individuals and social forces in life.

It was by all means brilliant. Although there's like 10 more things I wish I could have done and would have done weather permitting. But alas you can't always get what you want. So back into the salt mines if you will.... Been back at work for less than 4 hours and I'm already bored as fuck and ready to lose my mind... I mean there's only so much internet a guy can take at a time.
I don't have too much to say right now... Right now I'm reading Plato's Republic, it's a heavy book, not literally but mentally. It's sooo very much... simple yet complex. I wonder how much of Plato's philosophies still apply today or atleast are regarded as relevant.
What will be interesting is trying to compare Plato's Republic to Rousseau's Discourse on Inequality. Both of which can easily be considered an eloquent and challenge to contemporary and modern society even though they were written so long ago somehow they still stay relevent. I'm just entering part III: Education in the Republic, which I'm sure I'll find infinitly interesting as education is a vital aspect if our race is to survive. Everyone needs to read more books.
I've also been learning a lot about the Quran. Very interesting text indeed. Out of the big three religions being, First testement, second, and the Quran... I'm more inclined to put my faith into the Quran than the first or second testement. Things just happen to make more sense in the Quran. I for one am personally offended in this post 9/11 world where every Arab is a terrorist, and that the Quran is the root of evil.... what fucking bullshit.
For those of you who don't know the Quran is essentially the first and second testement, with only one big difference, the story of Abraham.
Aside from that it's the same old shit. Thou shalt not kill, love thy neighbour, thou shalt not steal, ect, ect. No where in the Quran does it mention "Jihads" or bombs.
Then you hear people screaming about giving women more rights in the Middle East.
Well most if not all of them wear the veil and full body dress and all that shit right? (sorry if there's a technical name which I don't know) 
And it's because of the religion they believe right? Suddenly there's outrage all over the world. "Islam women are being oppressed!"
BUT when a woman in another country say anywhere in North America wears a full nuns outfit covering her hair and body head to toe only exposing her face and hands in the name of her religion, it's called being modest and it's 100% accepted.

Anyways back to the real business at hand. There's something I've been avoiding most my life, it's talking to adults. What they think is often in contrast to what I believe. So in most cases they just don't understand what it is to be morally right or wrong. Most adults like to lecture, as if I'm not human, as if they hold some aura of superiority. Granted they are my elders but that don't mean shit. I would respect them as elders if they respected me as being the future but as soon as they think they're better than me, I'll bury them in a verbal avalanche of knowledge. If you think you can't learn from the youth then your ignorance runs deep. Age, knowledge, and wisdom. Some people think Age and wisdom are related but really they aren't. They say with Age comes Wisdom but age really has no bearings in reality, it's just a number in which is assigned to you. If you were 85 years old but never learned from your mistakes would you be wise? doubtful. Just because you've lived longer doesn't make you any bit smarter than anyone else in fact if you made it to 85 you'd probably be stupider as the mind grows older it losses it's sharpness. Anyone can obtain knowledge, it's everywhere all the time for free but wisdom must be awoken in your own subjective truth, not displayed to you through objective truth. It seems many adults have forgotten what it is to fight OR they take too much stock in the fact "they" stopped the god damn war in Vietnam. Which they may or may not have but even as I speak the Vietnamese are still suffering from chemical agents like Agent Orange leading to child defects and deformaties yet where as those "hippies" now who fought to end the war? I've never heard of anyone donating time or money to a Vietnamese charity to help victims of that war. It runs parallel with putting a donation in the donation bin at Christmas then patting yourself on the fucking back because you think you've done something decent. It's not like I think everyone should be an activist, it'd be nice but no. Just don't fucking front about it, know what i mean? Don't sit there and complain about cancer if you're not going to do shit about it. Anyone can jump on the band wagon or throw money at something and hope it goes away. Back to the point, they say kids don't listen, well I think adults don't listen. You try to drop some knowledge on them and they say things like "check your sources" or the most retarted, "that's just one of those crazy conspiracy theories"... or maybe I drop a Chomsky line and they reply, "he's an anti-semite, he can't be trusted"... Seriously, sometimes they just refuse to believe and then when the shit hits the fan they sit around with all their friends saying, "oh gosh, how'd this happen? why?" While I sit with all my friends saying, "This is how and this is why". Is there like an age where you just decide that "what I say must be right"? Adults will often also compare their childhood or youth with yours... as if you can even compare the two. There's such a MASSIVE grand fucking canyon sized hole between the two. Of course it's all thanks to this wonderful invention called the internet. Suddenly in a day I'm able to learn 10x the amount my parents were able to in a day, from virtually anything and everything I've ever wanted to know. The 15 minutes I spend on the internet and I've already seen and read more headlines than my parents have seen all day... that's knowledge... it fucking grows on trees... so the point is this. Just cause a guy is young and looks like a punk or a thug or goth or whatever doesn't mean he's a fucking idiot that needs to be lectured on the state of society and the morals of said society because chances are they know them better than you do in this new age of technological advancement. Anyways, Clinton will be stepping down sunday to back Obama. Now we can only assume that Clinton will be Obama's running mate correct? I mean it seems to make the most sense. Have the top two democrats run together instead of against each other. Between Clinton and Obama that's the feminist and minority votes in the bag, or so you would think. After all we know there's a HUGE difference between voting and having your vote actually counted. *ahem* Florida *ahem*
I wouldn't be surprised if Obama wins with Clinton as his running mate, then within a year Obama is assassinated to leave Clinton in power to complete the whole Bush, clinton, bush, clinton presidency. But that's just more crazy talk.
Imagine if Obama were to become president.... I can't even imagine the implications that would mean for the entire American nation.

And to be honest... I have no fucking idea. I'm not sure they are... then again why not? It shouldn't be a political race of races (see what I did there? lol) but I mean it will be. I can only assume that the majority of blacks, asians, latino, and other such minority groups will vote for Obama because they will go on to believe that Obama shares their own plight, living in a world dominated by whiteness. They'll vote for Obama becuase they identify themselves with Obama. Blacks will be up all over the streets celebrating the first black president but the real question is does Obama care?

Ofcourse that won't affect the 2-4% of the worlds rich, only us middle and low class, driving the gap between classes even wider. For the most part it's a battle to end the middle class completly.
It's easy to look at the smaller part of the picture, "how will this directly impact my everday life?" in which you can just bitch to your friends, co-workers ect, and pay your $1.50 at the pump or you're $2.50 for bottled water... or however much they'll jack up the price...
But to look at the bigger picture makes life almost unbearable, knowing thousands, millions suffer every single day from not having what you have in abundance, which we take forgranted every day.
There has to be some kind of balance.... I must sound very preachy right now and for that i'm sorry i don't mean to come off like that and I'm not saying go join green peace or some shit like that.
The only point I really wanted to get across is we're all fucked, so get your kicks in before this whole shit house goes down in flames.
June 02 Ignoring the self is the only sin of the selfJust when I thought I was out, they dragged me back in... the story of my life with this constant internet/globalization fight. So I've finished reading some Kierkegaard, the "father of existentialism" and he wrote something that reflects my life so perfectly.
He speaks of "Ignoring the 'self' is the only sin of the self"
"In Kierkegaards eyes my only sin as a human being aware of the cost of not benefiting from the advantages of being 'spirit' and in spite of this, being willing to sacrifice this opportunity to live as my true self in relation to the infinite, for the sake of a false identity that is entirely defined by the values of a finite worldly existance. The reason for ignoring one's potential selfhood becomes clearer if we use the analogy of "friendship".
Suppose I had only one honest friend (I'm the friend) whom I could always trust in a time of need, but this friend leads an existance characterized by personal commitment to the spiritual path and a lack of attachment to wordly pleasure. In addition, they see through my act, so in their presence my ego is undermined rather than boosted. Under such circumstances I might as well choose to turn my back on this friend (my true spiritual self) and instead spend time with my "fair weather" friends who praise my successes and love having fun (finite wordly existence). In other words I reject my spiritual self because this part of my being sees the shallowness of my finite wordly concerns and notices all my faults and negative behaviours"
Now that's some troubling shit, as I have in fact been in that exact situation. I used to have lots of friends but now not so much, rather aquantances now. Is it my choice? Yes, in many ways it is my choice, my freedom to pursue that which I find infinitly interesting and of great spiritual concern.
That in essence is the story... well current story of my life, in this moment of "becoming" very closely comparable to Plato's Cave, which should be no surprise we're back at. Shit, nobody told me the philosophers life was one of such.... unpleasant tastes...
Kierkegaard also pegged me as in a state of "Defiant Despair"
'Defiant despair arises when a person has genuinely realised that they are an independant individual with full freedom and responsibility of choice. However, they refuse to acknowledge that their existence is grounded in the power that founded it.'
Kierkegaard being Christian is refering to GOD as the power that founded my perceived freedom.
He also mentions,
'Defiant despair is typically seen in strong minded individuals who use their awareness of their unique individuality and personal freedom as a basis for shaping their very own conception of self. These types are offended by any sense of despair in themselves, and their passion for life turns to rage when problems or misfortune arrive. They would rather suffer increased hardship than lose their sense of self-reliance by asking God or anyone else for help'
Which are also very true remarks about my personality. My only quarrel with Kierkegaard is he's too fucking Christian, you know? God this and God that. Give me a fucking break.
ok, yes, perhaps religion is the only path to TRUE FAITH but I refuse to acknowledge such until such is proven to my true self. There's just too much Nietzsche in me to conceed to the notion of God... after all God is dead, we killed him.... all you Nietzsche heads out there know what I'm saying... or rather what Zarathustra said.
Kierkegaard does hit a point home with me in the sense that we exist in either one of two forms. Infinite or Finite. He also plays off Plato's objective truth but regards subjective truth as the only real truth. The point is we must shed our finite form tied to external influences and vices to reveal our true infinite nature in which our subjective truths are all that matters.
It's a philosophy that very closely mirrors that of REAL Hip-Hop. During the humble beginnings of hip hop, many people especially us poor ass mother fuckers (lol I talk as if I was there) were still trying to get our lives validated by main stream society. They had their personal well-being attached to an external source be it their car, house, degree, job, ect. BUT hip hop said, "Fuck your validation, fuck your standards. We as a culture, as a nation validate our own well being through WHO we are not WHAT we have."
Of course hip hop isn't like that anymore... sigh.... It's all about the bling and dollar dollar bill y'all!
